The YQNT LDSP1s-PV40 is a pluggable Type 2 surge protective device developed for solar photovoltaic DC systems. With model options covering 500V to 1500V DC, the series gives panel builders, solar equipment suppliers and project buyers a practical way to match surge protection to different PV system voltages.
Across the series, the nominal discharge current is 20kA and the maximum discharge current is 40kA under an 8/20 μs waveform. MOV-based protective modules, internal thermal disconnection and visual status indication are built into the design, while remote signalling is available as an option.
Available configurations include 2+0 and 3+0 arrangements, depending on the required DC voltage and system design.

One of the main advantages of the LDSP1s-PV40 range is that the same product platform covers several photovoltaic DC voltage levels.
Instead of selecting a surge protector by discharge-current rating alone, check the maximum continuous operating voltage, Ucpv, together with the required protection configuration and voltage protection level.
Model | Ucpv | In | Imax | Up | Configuration |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
LDSP1s-PV40-DC500 | 500V DC | 20kA | 40kA | ≤2.2kV | 2+0 |
LDSP1s-PV40-DC600 | 600V DC | 20kA | 40kA | ≤2.8kV | 2+0 |
LDSP1s-PV40-DC800 | 800V DC | 20kA | 40kA | ≤3.2kV | 2+0 |
LDSP1s-PV40-DC1000 | 1000V DC | 20kA | 40kA | ≤3.8kV | 2+0 |
These versions provide protection paths from DC+ and DC− to PE.
For detailed information on the dedicated 1000V configuration, see our LDSP1s-PV40-DC1000 product page.
Model | Ucpv | In | Imax | Up | Configuration |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
LDSP1s-PV40-DC1000 | 1000V DC | 20kA | 40kA* | ≤3.8kV | 3+0 |
LDSP1s-PV40-DC1200 | 1200V DC | 20kA | 40kA* | ≤4.5kV | 3+0 |
LDSP1s-PV40-DC1500 | 1500V DC | 20kA | 40kA* | ≤5.2kV | 3+0 |
*The technical data identifies the SPD module Imax as 40kA. The model-selection data for the 3+0 configuration also lists an Imax Total value of 80kA.
The LDSP1s-PV40 series is available in both 2+0 and 3+0 arrangements.
The 2+0 versions use two protective paths and are listed in the product range for 500V to 1000V DC models. The 3+0 versions use a three-module arrangement and are available in the 1000V to 1500V DC range.
The correct configuration should be selected according to the PV system voltage, circuit arrangement and project protection design. For OEM projects or applications where the required configuration is not clear, send us the system information before ordering, and we can help identify the appropriate model.
The LDSP1s-PV40 is intended for surge protection on the DC side of photovoltaic installations.
Typical applications include:
Solar PV combiner boxes
DC distribution panels
PV array protection
Solar inverter DC input circuits
Commercial rooftop solar systems
Industrial photovoltaic installations
Other DC sections of PV power systems within the product's rated voltage range
With voltage options extending to 1500V DC, the series allows buyers to use a consistent SPD platform across different photovoltaic system designs while selecting the Ucpv and protection mode that suit each project.
The protective modules are pluggable, allowing a module to be replaced without changing the complete base assembly.
A visual indicator provides a quick check of device condition:
Green indicates normal operating status
Red indicates that the protective module requires attention or replacement
For projects that need centralized monitoring, selected versions can be supplied with an optional remote signalling contact. This allows the SPD status to be incorporated into a monitoring or control system without relying only on local visual inspection.
The LDSP1s-PV40 is designed for 35mm DIN-rail installation and uses screw terminals for conductors from 2.5mm² to 25mm². Busbar wiring may also be used according to the product configuration.
The supplied technical data specifies a maximum 63A gPV backup fuse.
SPD selection and installation should take account of the actual PV system voltage, conductor arrangement, protection mode and upstream protection. Installation should be carried out by qualified electrical personnel in accordance with the confirmed product documentation and applicable project requirements.
YQNT supports OEM and ODM requirements for solar equipment suppliers, electrical distributors, panel builders and private-label brands.
Depending on the project, we can support product marking, private labels, packaging, documentation, voltage and protection-mode selection, and optional remote-signalling configurations.
For a faster quotation, send us your PV system voltage, required Ucpv, 2+0 or 3+0 configuration, certification market and estimated order quantity. We will review the application and confirm the available LDSP1s-PV40 model.
Choose the Ucpv rating according to the actual maximum DC operating voltage of the photovoltaic system and the project design requirements. The LDSP1s-PV40 range includes 500V, 600V, 800V, 1000V, 1200V and 1500V DC models.
Do not select the SPD only by looking at In or Imax. Ucpv, voltage protection level and protection configuration also need to match the system.
The series has a nominal discharge current, In, of 20kA and a maximum discharge current, Imax, of 40kA using an 8/20 μs waveform.
Within the supplied product range, 2+0 configurations are listed for the 500V to 1000V DC models, while 3+0 configurations are listed for 1000V to 1500V DC.
The final configuration should be chosen according to the system voltage and electrical design rather than by pole count alone.
The voltage protection level, Up, varies with the selected Ucpv:
500V DC: ≤2.2kV
600V DC: ≤2.8kV
800V DC: ≤3.2kV
1000V DC: ≤3.8kV
1200V DC: ≤4.5kV
1500V DC: ≤5.2kV
This is why the exact voltage variant matters when specifying an SPD for a photovoltaic system.
Yes. Remote signalling is available as an option. The technical data specifies a changeover contact rated at 250V/0.5A AC or 30V/3A DC.
The supplied technical data specifies a maximum 63A gPV backup fuse for the LDSP1s-PV40 series. The final protection arrangement should still be checked against the selected model and project design.
